Cole Barge & Smack Race from Brightlingsea
We took "Hydrogen" the Thames barge for a trip out to photograph the Barge and Smack race It was not clear from the start that they would all leave at the same time especially as the Smack vessels flew ahead. The morning started with an amazing sunrise and we wished we had go up earlier that 05.00 to take more photos of the colourful sky. The forecast had been heavy rain but we only sheltered from light rain for a short time. EDME was the winner in its class a barge with no engine power that required being tugged out on the tide and back in to moor.
