Tarragona

It had rained very heavily in the afternoon and we wondered if we had made the right decision to venture to Tarragona. It started to rain and the restaurant we had planned to have dinner had closed so there was only one thing we could do and that was shelter from the rain in a street cafe below the cathedral and look up the best place to spend the evening. The Cathedral of Tarragona is a Roman Catholic church and it was located in a site previously occupied by a Roman temple dating to the time of Tiberius, a Visigothic cathedral and a Moorish mosque, it was declared a national monument in 1905. What better setting was there to try a local Sangria and take shelter.  We eventually selected two possible restaurants only to find  "A Quintin" open and not one of us were disappointed!
