24 hours in Spain

Costa Dorada, Villa Jacaranda, Tres, L'ametela de Mar

Arriving in Barcelona we were promised rain but this did not deter the excitement at the prospect of reaching Jacaranda and the Thai  Orchid Cambrils provided an excellent supper. Gin measures are generous!  Today we thought it was a Saint's day, one of the twenty festival days, it could of been "Day of the Dead" as everywhere was very quiet and all the shops were shut. Armed with umbrellas we set off to find a place for lunch and found a great place before the heavens opened.

Later we learned that today is The Fiesta Nacional de España, the National Day in Spain and it commemorates the anniversary of Christopher Columbus's first arrival in the Americas. He landed in the New World on October 12, 1492.
