The weather forecast was good and it seemed a good day to get to Jungfraujoch known as "The Top of Europe`. The train journey from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg is through the Eiger
with a couple of timed stops to peer out through the windows and take a few shots at the North Face before reaching the landing station of the Jungfraujoch. The journey through the dark tunnel seemed to last for ages before we reached Eigerwand 2865 metres and then the second stop Eismeer 3160 meters. One definitely noticed the altitude affects as one climbed out of the train with other tourists in various attire, (perhaps not traditionally mountain attire) and the serious climbers with specialist equipement. It was very warm and the sky clear blue. Tomorrow snow is forecast and that would pose another photo opportunity!
Once at the top of Jungfraujoch the main tourist attraction was the selfie. There were two viewing areas, the Sphinx was much higher and offered a view of the glacier where helicopters were in view, and ski runs and off piste skiers could be seen. We spotted a butterfly and a few Choughs.

A lovely set. Memories come rushing back. I do remember how cold the ice palace was.
