Guernsey - the Channel Islands

Guernsey is just a 55 minute flight from Stansted with Aurigny airways.  It a great place to visit and once there, one feels miles away.  If the sun is shinning the sea looks turquoise against the pale sandy beaches.   September and October are good months to visit,  and it is a shame I have had to cut my trip short. Once the Autumn events start there is the food festival, Sunday concerts in Candie Gardens, Proms on the Pier, the Guernsey Air Display and Tenner-fest, a fixed price promotion.

A few of us from the Cambridge Camera Club, twelve in all landed on the island and joined up with some of the members of the three Guernsey Camera clubs.  Ann’s comprehensive notes and busy itinerary soon set the photographers off with plenty to do. Those who have been before know they need to be organised with camera batteries recharged for all  events  from morning to evening. Ann of course has no influence on the weather so one has be ready for rain!

Once we had checked into the hotel we all met up on the beach to watch the sunset. Sue recorded the motley crew lined up on the beach with great amusement.
