It started to snow and I had to go to Bishops Stortford. It was an opportunity to visit to Hatfield Forest, a place I had never explored, despite having a friend to lived close by. Ann had been many times to photograph the trees and I can see the fascination with such a variety of trees. Some of the trunks had been split and they almost looked like creatures with a Valgus. It was very windy and therefore very cold. The National Trust offered the usual beverages, sandwiches and soup and cake. The mushroom soup was the order of the day in this cold weather and we sheltered in the shell house as there was no indoor facilities.
