A foggy start to Summer time when the clocks leaped forward. Few people appeared on Churchill Hill, Royston apart from two dog walkers and two other photographers.
The Stour valley is a stunning area that influenced many of John Constable's paintings and sketches. It was a miserable, cold, dull day but it was so good to see the area that inspired "The Hay Wain" painting.
Venus Pools is one of my favourite places to watch birds. It was good to see the Brambling, Long-tailed Tit and the Bullfinch. The Spotted Wood Pecker was a regular visitor.
